A homeowner in Crawfordsville, Indiana noticed water seeping through his block basement walls during heavy rains. He believed that the majority of the water seepage was coming from a small existing window in the basement that he was also interested in having replaced. The recent water leak gave him reason to finally consider having this window replaced with a much larger Egress window that would provide the basement with improved natural lighting.
Our Certified Inspector Jay went out to the home in Crawfordsville, Indiana to provide the homeowner with his findings in the basement and propose a solution for his needs. During the inspection, Jay noticed discoloration on the walls and floor that showed where water had seeped through at one time and recommended that the entire basement be protected instead of just the area near the existing window. For the egress window installation, Jay informed the homeowner that we would have to cut an opening in the block walls and then install wall anchors to stabilize the wall after the window is put in place.
Our Foreman Isaias and his crew members Olvin and Nazario installed WaterGuard floor drainage around the perimeter of the basement that will redirect the wall to the homeowner's existing sump pump. The crew installed a beautiful egress window and a RockWell window well with a cover for an amazing basement upgrade. The new egress window provides much more natural light and an easy escape route out of the basement in case of an emergency. Geo-Lock wall anchors were used to provide permanent stabilize to block wall section that was cut out for the window installation.
Diana's basement had major mold and water issues that seemed to be getting worse over time. The home was over 100 years old causing several challenges for our team, but our sales inspector and production crew were more than ready. During the free estimate inspection, our Sales Inspector Jay determined that Drainage Matting would be the best solution to capture the water coming through the basement walls. While typically our WaterGuard Drainage System is the ideal solution for basement water issues, the circumstances of the older home required the need for drainage matting.
Our Foreman Nolan and his crew members Nate and Nick worked efficiently to install the basement waterproofing system that also included a TripleSafe Sump Pump, CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, and a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier. This system will ensure that Diana's basement no longer leaks any water and the high humidity levels will be controlled.
The installation took Nolan and his crew three days to complete and the results of the 100-year-old basement were flawless. Diana was thrilled with her newly waterproofed basement and was very impressed with how well the crew worked together.
