A homeowner in Kokomo, Indiana was very concerned about abnormal humidity in her home and noticed a musty smell coming from under her house.  She began searching for reliable companies who would come out to her home to inspect her crawl space to see what could be done to resolve those concerns. Upon arrival, Jay met with the homeowner to discuss all of her primary concerns and what her ultimate goal was should she move forward.  During his inspection, Jay went into the crawl space and immediately pointed out that the dirt floor was exposed and lacked vapor barrier covering all areas.  He addressed these issues with the homeowner and explained that air was rising through the ground and into the home resulting in high humidity.  Jay finished his inspection and proposed all of his findings and recommendations to the homeowner who decided to move forward to address a healthier environment in her crawl space.  

Our Foreman Eric and his crew members John and Josh were tasked with encapsulating the crawl space with CleanSpace vapor barrier to prevent moisture from passing through the ground.  The crew also installed SilverGlo thermal wall vapor barrier to trap the heat inside the crawl space.  Two TripleSafe sump pumps were installed on opposite ends of the crawl space to remove any water entering the crawl space that would be redirected by our EZ Flo Drainage System.  Lastly, the crew installed our energy-efficient 5-star rated SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to reduce the high humidity in the crawl space as well as purify the air.

Our foundation repair Foreman Wes and his crew installed 10 PowerBraces on the walls to eventually straighten the walls.  PowerBraces are a wall support system that consist of steel I-beams that are secured to the joists above the wall with steel brackets.  The job was a challenge for the Wes, John, and Jon-Wesley, but their knowledge of foundation issues and hard work ethic allowed them to persevere.   

John is the owner of a unique barn from the early 1900s that has stood the test of time.  However, the barn had some major foundation issues and John choose to have it fixed rather than knock it down, because of its sentimental value.  He found Basement Systems of Indiana at the Indianapolis Home Show and began having a conversation with our Sales Inspector Dave about how we could fix the foundation issues with the barn.  Dave explained our Pier Systems that would stabilize the barn and eventually went out to inspect the barn in Kokomo for a closer look.

The foundation issues were severe and put the barn at risk of collapsing if not repaired correctly.  Our Foreman Todd and his crew members Nolan and John faced significant challenges with this job.  It was the first time that we had encountered foundation issues of such magnitude on an old barn.  The crew embraced the adversity that they faced and worked hard to install the Push Piers to stabilize the beams inside the barn.  Another challenge was getting the excavator around in such a limited space, but they overcame this challenge as well.
