This homeowner in Mitchell, Indiana had foundation walls in his basement that were bowing significantly and other walls hard large stair-stepping cracks. Concerned about the structural integrity of his home, he began searching for reliable companies on HomeAdvisor and found Basement Systems of Indiana.  

Our Sales Manager Curtis and Sales Inspector Terry went to the home in Mitchell, Indiana to provide a thorough inspection of the unique foundation issues the homeowner was experiencing.  While our team deals with bowing and crack walls very often, this situation was a little bit different than what we usually tackle. After examining the walls, Curtis and Terry determined that our PowerBrace Foundation Wall Repair System would permanently stabilize the walls that were cracked, and Carbon Armor would prevent the bowed walls from worsening.  

Our Foreman Nolan and his crew members Deonte and John were the crew chosen to complete this job.  The basement also had some water issues, so the crew first installed a SmartSump Pump and CleanSpace Vapor Barrier on the walls to prevent moisture from passing through.  The next step was to install the PowerBraces where the cracks existed.  The Carbon Armor was then installed horizontally on the walls, due to the way the walls were bowing.  The entire team involved on this challenging job to persevere and make the customer happy in the end.

Our Certified Inspector Casey met with the homeowner to go over his concerns and provide a thorough inspection of the basement foundation issues to determine the correct solution.  Casey took measurements of the bowing walls and pointed out the deflection in the wall and how the problem would only worsen if the walls were not stabilized immediately.  The homeowner did not want to risk the wall falling down completely and having to pay even more money to have the wall completely replaced.  Casey proposed a solution that would permanently stabilize the walls and prevent any further movement.  

Our Foreman Emilio and his crew members Jose, Eliuc, and Marcos installed a total of 14 Geo-Lock wall earth anchors.  The anchors were extended out the hard-packed soil beyond the home, anchoring themselves there and bracing the foundation wall.  The Geo-Lock wall anchors are also easily adjustable which allows for small adjustments to eventually restore the wall back to its original level position.
